Hingaia pump station P63
Hingaia rising main & pumping station pipework upgrade was a necessary upgrade to cater for the expected increases and volumes of flow , Rees Engineering was privileged to work alongside the 2 stage upgrade in supplying the pipework & operational platforms to assist with the pumping station upgrades.
Pipework was all 600NB Api coated with a Belzona coating tested to ASME-9 Standard.
VALUE: $153,000.00
Mt.Pleasant Water Supply pipeline renewal
The Mt Pleasant Watermain Renewal project is aimed at improving the water distribution network by replacing two existing water supply mains from the Mt Pleasant Pump Station and connecting on St Andrews Hill.
This project is crucial for enhancing the reliability and capacity of the local water supply network, ensuring long-term benefits for the Mt Pleasant community.
Rees Engineering proudly produced all of the CLS pipework ranging between 200NB & 300NB pipe. The 2x 51m pipelines were broken up into a total of 43 bespoke pipe and bend sections, these were fabricated to exact tolerances and to a pressure rating that’s three times the standard pipe rating, due to the increased pressure the pipes are under on the hill.
VALUE: $169,000.00
Te Marua Water Treatment Plant
Rees Engineering had the luxury of planning & fabricating the pipework and install of the Te Marua Water treatment upgrade in 2024.
The pipework sizes ranged from 200NB up to 1050NB with full Ultrasound testing.
The Te Mārua water treatment plant is a critical infrastructure asset to Wellington region. It currently provides up to 80 million litres of drinking water per day to the Wellington region.
VALUE: $857,000.00
Waikanae Water Treatment Plant upgrade
A 30-month upgrade to increase earthquake resilience and to replace aging equipment at the Waikanae Water Treatment Plant.
The Waikanae Water Treatment Plant provide safe, clean, reliable and resilient drinking water to more than 40,000 people in Waikanae, Paraparaumu and Raumati
The works will also increase the seismic resilience of the water supply for Waikanae, Paraparaumu and Raumati.
The project is stage two of a planned three-staged upgrade of the Waikanae Water Treatment Plant in which Rees Engineering is stoked to be a part of in supplying the Waikanae Region CLS Pipework ranging from 100NB to 750NB CLS pipe, which was hand concrete lined by Rees Engineering ourselves.
VALUE: $624,000.00
Omaroro Reservoir Project
From 2021 – 2023, REES Engineering had the privilege to work alongside HEB construction in the new build of the 35 million litre Reservoir which provides a significant increase in water storage for Wellington City. In the event supply pipes have disruptions, the Omaroro Reservoir can supply up to 48hrs supply of drinking water, playing a key role in increasing the city’s resilience.
The 35 million litre Reservoir has doubled the water storage capacity for Wellington’s CBD. It is also one of the few buried reservoirs in NZ to withstand a 1 in 5000-year earthquake, serving 70’000 residents in central Wellington. This project was delivered on time and within approved budgets & put into service 1-year ahead of planned schedule.
Estimated value for install & supply: $1.2 Million.
